Dispersion Managed Mode-Locking in All-Fiber Polarization-Maintaining Nd-Doped Laser at 920 nm

We present a comprehensive study of dispersion managed ultrashort-pulse generation in Nd-doped polarization maintaining all-fiber laser at 920 nm wavelength. implement linear scheme with chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) serving as semitransparent mirror and semiconductor saturable absorber (SESAM) mode-locker second non-transparent mirror. Complete 1064 emission filtering is ensured by 920/1064 wavelength division multiplexer. The compensation CFBG was sufficient to reach anomalous net the shortest allowing us investigate mode-locking regimes −0.05 ps 2 ÷ 0.24 range varying length passive fiber. With this approach we demonstrate high order harmonic closer zero large energy span near-parabolic shape single pulse operation regime. investigation supported numerical simulations used optimize resonator design intracavity evolution.

We report on the generation of self-similar pulses from an self-starting saturable absorber mirror (SAM) based environmentally stable fiber laser comprising only polarization maintaining (PM) fibers. Pulse energies of 1 nJ at a repetition rate of 17 MHz were obtained, which could be externally compressed to an autocorrelation width of 280 fs.
